SpiritMCP

A Model Context Protocol surface for WordPress. The plugin sits on your site with capability flags; the server hosts the MCP endpoint your AI client connects to. 56 tools across 20 categories, two deployment modes, audit log on every call.

Automate & Scale

Tell Claude what you want. It happens, correctly.

SpiritMCP is a Model Context Protocol surface for WordPress, in two halves. The plugin (spiritwp-mcp, open source) installs on your site as a careful guest, with explicit capability flags for each category of operation. The server (Fastify + MCP SDK + SSE, hosted) is the part any MCP-compatible client connects to, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Cline, Continue, anything that speaks the spec.

Once connected, the client sees 56 tools across 20 categories: WP-CLI, SQL, plugin and theme management, file operations, media, GreenShift CSS, post and page CRUD, and the operational layer above WordPress itself. Destructive operations require a confirm token before they fire. Every call lands in the audit log.

Two deployment modes ship from the same tool surface. Mode A bridges via SSH, your site never opens a public port. Mode B exposes a JSON-RPC 2.0 endpoint, auth-gated. Same tools, same safety guarantees, different network shape. The plugin is open source so you can audit before you install. £19.99/month standalone, or £39.99/month for the upcoming Developer Bundle alongside SpiritDocs, SpiritVideoGen and FSV Studio.

Why it works

What you can expect.

  • 56 tools across 20 categories
  • Mode A (SSH bridge) or Mode B (public MCP)
  • Confirm tokens for destructive operations
  • Audit log — every call recorded
  • Feature flags per capability group
  • Multi-tenant host header routing
What's inside

One workspace. Everything you need.

The stack to run a real business, without the spreadsheet gymnastics.

56 Tools, 20 Categories

WP-CLI, SQL, plugin and theme management, file operations, media, GreenShift CSS, posts, pages, and the operational layer — every category has explicit capability flags so you decide what's reachable.

Two Deployment Modes

Mode A bridges via SSH and your site never opens a public port. Mode B exposes a JSON-RPC 2.0 endpoint, auth-gated. Same tool surface, same safety guarantees.

Confirm Tokens

Destructive operations require a token before they fire. Claude has to ask twice before it can drop a table or delete a plugin. Mistakes get caught at the asking, not the doing.

Audit Log

Every call lands in a structured audit trail — caller, tool, arguments, outcome, timing. Compliance evidence for client work, debugging trail for everything else.

Multi-tenant Routing

One server, many sites. Host header routing means an agency can manage multiple client WordPresses through a single MCP server with isolated tool surfaces and separate audit logs.

MCP-Native

Built to the Model Context Protocol spec, not bolted onto a chatbot UI. Works with Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Cline, Continue, and anything else that speaks MCP.

Editorial

Two front doors. One careful system.

Mode A bridges Claude to WordPress through SSH — your site never opens a public port. Mode B exposes a JSON-RPC 2.0 endpoint for direct MCP connections. Both share the same 56 tools, the same confirm-token safety system, and the same audit trail.

Good questions

Frequently asked.

Where does the server run?
The hosted Mode B server runs on a dedicated AMD Turin box in Frankfurt — a European jurisdiction for data residency, low latency for UK and EU sites. Mode A operates from the same server but bridges to your site over SSH, so your site never opens a public port for SpiritMCP.
What stops Claude making destructive calls by mistake?
Per-category capability flags, plus confirm tokens. Destructive operations (anything that deletes, drops, or overwrites without a backup) require a token issued separately. Claude has to ask twice. The flags let you turn off entire categories at the plugin level — no exec_php means no exec_php, full stop.
Is the plugin open source?
Yes. The plugin half (spiritwp-mcp) is on GitHub under an open licence — audit it before installing. The server is source-available to paying subscribers via Polar.sh — your subscription includes read access to the private server repo, so you can audit operations, fork for self-hosting, or stay current with the canonical implementation.
Which AI clients work?
Anything that speaks Model Context Protocol. Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Cline, Continue. Generic MCP HTTP clients work for Mode B. The protocol is the contract; the client is your choice.
Can I run it across multiple sites?
Yes. The server supports host header routing — one server, many WordPress installs, isolated tool surfaces per host, separate audit logs. Built for agency work from day one.
Is SpiritMCP included in any membership tier?
No. SpiritMCP is a standalone product at £19.99/month, or part of the upcoming Developer Bundle (SpiritDocs · SpiritMCP · SpiritVideoGen · FSV Studio) at £39.99/month for all four. It is not bundled with any T1–T7 chakra membership tier.
What is the £19.99 actually paying for?
An entire AI nervous system for your WordPress site, professionally hosted and continuously maintained. The hosted MCP server with SSE streaming and JSON-RPC 2.0 endpoint. The SSH bridge for sites that prefer never to open a public port. The 56-tool surface kept current with WordPress, GreenShift, and the MCP spec — 47/47 tests passing because someone watches that. Multi-tenant routing for agencies running this across multiple client sites. Full audit logs as compliance evidence for billable client work. Source access to the private server repo via Polar.sh, so you can fork, self-host, or audit. And honestly — the best argument is to use it for a fortnight. The hours it gives back per WordPress build pay for the year.
